With a great welcome, CoolSport recently participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Michigan Chapter's "Independent Living Fair," held in Southfield, Michigan on October 7th, 2001.
At the fair, we had a lot of fun giving hands-on product demonstrations, meeting a lot of wonderful people and viewing many of the great products that were on display. CoolSport was invited by the Michigan Chapter to showcase our line of personal cooling products, as it is known that heat stress can greatly exacerbate the symptoms of those who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, and limit their activities in warm environments. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of MS. And as CoolSport witnessed at the fair, it was clear that the Michigan Chapter is a strong branch of that organization.
Headed by President Patricia A. McDonald and Vice President of Programs and Services Rose Jones Taylor, as well as Manager of Clinical Programs Connie Nesbary, the Independent Living Fair was a huge success. With nearly 20 booths representing different organizations and companies that offer quality independent living products and services, the fair drew in a tremendous number of people on Sunday from across the United States. Companies such as "Lift Aid," with their "Lift Aid 2000" revolutionary personal lifting system (See picture, below) were there. Also, the CrossTrainers Fitness Forum (Health Center) was represented by Timothy B. Steinbrink (Manager). The American Red Cross southeastern Michigan Chapter was present, represented by Maude Harrison, who was there to demonstrate the LifeLine Emergency Response System.
CoolSport's booth was attended by CoolSport's Director of Marketing, Norman Nanstiel and our Illinois-based Assistant Director of Marketing and Webmaster, Erik Nanstiel. CoolSport's booth was very busy that day, as Norman and Erik answered questions and passed out product catalogs, fliers, CD's, refrigerator magnets and samples of the technology used in our Cool Vests' Cool Packs. We also performed demonstrations of our 65-degree Phase Change Cooling Vests, and let the fair attendees try on all of our different models of cooling vests.
Truly a success, a large number of people visited CoolSport's booth in a five hour period asking questions and gathering literature. Back in California, CoolSport's President and CEO Ron Planovsky, working with Manager of Clinical Programs Connie Nesbary (from the Michigan Chapter), donated several Cooling Vests and copies of our literature to the Michigan Chapter for their own charitable and informational uses.
To sum it up, CoolSport was honored to participate in the Michigan Chapter's Independent Living Fair, and all of the staff at CoolSport would like to offer special thanks to Patricia, Rose, Connie and their staff for giving us the opportunity to attend.
Thanks from the Senior Staff at CoolSport,
Ron, Norman, Erik & Angie
